Electronics Recycling

What is Electronics Recycling?

Electronics recycling, also known as e-waste recycling, is the process of collecting, dismantling and disposing of unwanted electronics in a safe, responsible manner. Electronics recycling can help with sustainability efforts by conserving natural resources as well as reducing air pollution, water pollution and landfill overflow by helping to keep electronics out of landfills.

Who it impacts

Electronics recycling has a far-reaching impact in today’s society for consumers, businesses, and the environment.

For consumers looking for places to recycle old electronics, electronics recycling reduces landfill waste and helps preserve natural resources. Businesses can benefit from electronics recycling to dispose of old computers or laptops, as it contributes to a more environmentally friendly production process and reduces compliance costs associated with the proper handling of electronic items. Electronics recycling also positively impacts the environment. By recovering materials for reuse and preventing the release of toxins into air and water, electronics recycling can help reduce environmental pollution.

What you can do

“Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle”

As technology continues to shape the way we navigate through the world, individuals and organizations alike have a responsibility to further electronic waste sustainability efforts.

Organizations wishing to be good environmental stewards should:

  • Educate employees on the importance of electronics recycling, especially when it comes to workplace electronics no longer needed by the organization or team
  • Use electronics recycling service providers for large projects such as liquidating computers or other electronics which cannot be recycled through small electronics collection programs
  • Implement a comprehensive electronics recycling policy to encourage proper electronics disposal processes and procedures

  3. Reuse Electronics – Suitable electronics are sent through our testing and refurbishing process. Once complete these items are ready for sale through one of our sales channels.
  4. Recycle Electronics – Items deemed not suitable for reuse go through our dismantling process, which separates items into their core commodity categories. These commodities are then sent to downstream processors and eventually reenter into the supply chain as core raw materials.
